"We viewed the wedding as a once-in-a-lifetime event and it takes a number of partners to come together to make it happen. When it came to ours however, I started out by having a massive excel spreadsheet to compare the different partners in each category of dinner venue, florists, solemnization venue, caterers etc. In the middle of the process, I realised I don't really know these vendors intimately enough to make a decision that would leave us with peace of mind. I have also been the MC for a few weddings and have an inkling of what goes on in the background, and wanted somebody professional to pull everything together on the actual day.

That's when we started looking for a wedding planner and emailed a few of them that we found online. From the first email response and the first meeting, Gordon from Wedding Matters left us with a good impression. He was prompt, informative and understood our needs. I thought it was interesting that his past experience included from the traditional local Chinese wedding, to western expatriates and even some cross cultural marriages like ours.

We certainly felt that he listened to and understood our priorities and interests well and did quite a fair bit of pre-qualification before suggesting different vendor partners to us. Also when we hit certain bumps with one that we selected, he was very adroit in facilitating a resolution. For example there was a misunderstanding by one of the personnel of our florist which resulted in an increase in cost which was a shock to us. He quickly arranged a next day meeting with the manager and us and we managed to sort it out. The flowers turned out to be wonderful and really transformed the venue National Museum.

On the day itself, Gordon and his team were the soul of professionalism and discretion. He coordinated everything with the various partners, handled friends and family's well meaning, if fairly diverse, comments and input.

For this architect turned wedding planner, we could really tell that he really believes in weddings and making them special for people. Thank you Gordon for being part of our wedding and helping it be a success."
